Un chanson pour vous // A song for you

In honor of the weekend, I am going to post my current favorite song that I've heard over here. It's not available on US iTunes, which makes me very angry. And I can't change my account to a different country until I deplete my gift card attached to it. These are the problems I have over here. Anyways, here you go! Enjoy:

First post

So this will be my blog for the next 3 to 4 months, and along with including my experiences I will be making some videos. The name of this blog, Hasard, is a French word, pronounced Hah-zahr (with the typical "r" sound that French do, and the last letter is usually silent). It's a word I learned recently, it means chance/by chance, and I feel like that's how most of this trip- heck, even my friendship with Marina, everything I've gotten to see so far, and how I live my life- is by chance. I try not to worry about the details too much or plan things to the last detail, because when something goes wrong (and it always does), it may end up better than you could have ever imagined.

If you're too focused on how the plan went wrong, you won't even notice how the plan surprised you with something extraordinary. So try not to worry about having a fixed agenda, especially when you're traveling like I am, because every day you'll see and learn something new anyways. Marina has already gotten me a job babysitting, and I've seen and experienced so much with her family and friends in just a month. I've been to a gay bar, I've been French camping, I've been boogie boarding in the largest waves I've ever seen, I've been to Normandy and have never felt so proud to be an American. Family of my French friends here in France remember all too well the captivity and reign of terror under the Nazis. It's incredible the history throughout this country.

I will post more later, getting lunch in the city!
